How to convert a sign from neon to LED

Welcome to The Boss Blog

LED is in and neon is on its way out, at least for most signs.  Neon looks great when its new and the tubes are manufactured properly.  However, as time passes neon begins to have issues in cold weather.  Neon is difficult to repair and very expensive to maintain and run.  Sign Boss recently converted two customers, Air Gas and Starbucks, to LEDs.  It was a rather simple process which involved removing the old neon tubes and transformers, cleaning the interior of the channel letters and literally “sticking” the new LED modules in the channel letter.  The beauty of it all is you don’t have to run new wiring to the LED transformers.  No need to hire an electrician, provided you have a limited electrical sign license.  The look of LED is just as vibrant, if not more, then the neon when it was new.  Maintenance, repair and operating costs are significantly less then neon.  Check it out and if your neon signs are beginning to look dull and dim think about converting to LED signs.    If you have any questions please feel free to contact us or check out our galleryto see other projects SignBoss has completed.
