The Gillette Hockey Association operates from the Campbell County Ice Arena at 121 South 4-J Road. (You may remember the location as the Rockpile Ice Arena.) The Inaugural Faceoff for Firefighters Annual Tournament Needed Our Help
This annual fundraising event would benefit local food drives. The idea is straightforward: Local firefighters face younger hockey players for Gillette Wild on Ice in a game of Broomball. It sounds deceptively easy. However, to make the event come together, there needed to be graphics, flyers, and anything that would create a buzz!
SignBoss designed an exciting logo as the face for the event to be used annually with an updated date. Look closely, and you notice the amazing detail work that went into the graphics. There are even gradient color changes that give the image dimension and look great in print.
With this step completed, our technicians went to work designing flyers with the new logo and printing them. We also put together a banner that will be patched each year with a new date. Finally, this logo was printed on the volunteer firefighters’ jerseys. On the day of the event, there were smiles all around!
What the Event Organizers Said
“Our first annual Faceoff For Firefighters was a success! CCPRD’s free Public Skate was jam-packed. After that, Broomball was a hit! Our local Firefighters did great playing against the GHA teams. We were also thankful for the Junior Wild team helping out, as they kept Broomball running smoothly.
The food drive for the Council of Community Services raised 1,427 cans! The Peewees earned a pizza party with 383 cans, the Bantams took second with 376, and the Squirts came in a close third with 313 cans. In total, $1,438 was raised for the Angel Fund. Amanda Killian won the 50/50 raffle and donated her portion back. Thanks, Amanda!
